Based in Arnedo, La Rioja, Spain’s "footwear capital," Calzados Pitillos preserves the heritage of local artisans who began producing durable footwear for farmers in the 19th century. This legacy continues today with modern production techniques across an 8,000 m² facility, where handcrafted precision meets cutting-edge technology.
By combining craftsmanship and technology, they have created a shoe that reflects a vision of innovation: merging comfort and functionality with contemporary design. Pitillos’ attention to the finest artisanal detail is seamlessly integrated with the mechanical side of production. Originally designed for women’s feet, these shoes have evolved along with their design, now catering to three different generations.
The production process begins with a sketch and develops through meticulous design that prioritizes ergonomics, quality, and functionality. The company manufactures its own lasts to ensure the perfect fit and uses top-tier materials, such as Arneplant thermoregulating linings for optimal breathability and moisture absorption, 90% Italian-sourced natural leathers, and specialized TPU, Latex, and Polyurethane soles for durability and safety. The vast majority of Pitillos shoes are made of cowhide leather, with a smaller selection made from goat or buffalo leather. Patent leather has also become a key element in their production.
